Elective Destinations

St Vincent and the Grenadines

We offer electives to the beautiful island nation of St Vincent and the Grenadines. This picturesque chain of islands featured heavily in the Pirates of the Caribbean films due to their unspoilt beauty. The country is made up of 32 islands, many of which are uninhabited. All offer stunning sandy beaches and turquoise blue water.
We work with a few hospitals, but on the whole medical care is very centralised and many are unable to seek advice. We aim to use our students skills to run health fairs and training courses. This gives you the chance to make a real difference while on your elective.
St Vincent has a range of trips and activities, from climbing an active volcano to discovering hidden waterfalls and swimming with turtles.

Kenya is a wonderful choice for your elective placement. This stunning country is located on the East African coastline, and is a unique mix of savannahs, lakelands, the dramatic Great Rift Valley and mountain highlands.

It’s wildlife have made it a hugely popular destination for tourists, with a Kenyan safari being on most people’s bucket list.

But it is also a developing country and health care is not readily available to all. This will give you the opportunity to work in new environments, expanding your knowledge and experience, posing a number of unseen challenges.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka has become one of the most popular destinations for students to travel to. It is no wonder when you consider all of the amazing history, landscapes, culture and activities you will be exposed to.
You will have the chance to be exposed to a range of specialities and new situations. You can also add additional projects on to your elective such as working in an orphanage or volunteering with turtles.
In your free time there is plenty to see and do in Sri Lanka. Stunning temples, whale watching, mountain hikes, elephant safaris and weekends learning to surf. It is easy to see why Sri Lanka is one of the top elective destinations.
