Our elective students ran a first aid course for the St Vincent Football Federation and their community coaches
This week saw our current elective students run an injury prevention and first aid course for the St Vincent Football Federation’s community coaches. This is a new partnership that we are committed to working with in the future, and just part of the work we do to ensure our elective students make a real difference to the island.
Our students spoke about emergency first aid, such as CPR techniques, as well as how to make the sessions safer. This is the sort of knowledge that isn’t readily available in St Vincent due to the limited number of medical professionals. There are no dedicated sports physios on the island, so no one involved in sport is ever given specific medical insights.
As our projects continue to grow and develop we will be working with other sports and already have a relationship with the Olympic committee. For our students this offers another unique experience, making your elective both worthwhile and unforgettable.
If this sounds like the kind of elective you would be interested in then you can find out more on our St Vincent elective page.
